France's Top Food and Diet Tracking Apps Show Varied Trends in Q4 2020

As we closed out the tumultuous year of 2020, the French market for food and diet tracking apps on the unified platform showed a range of user behavior and financial outcomes, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's how the top five apps fared in the last quarter.
Yuka - Food & Cosmetic scanner began the quarter with around 50,000 downloads and concluded with over 50,000, indicating a slight decrease followed by a recovery in download numbers. The app's weekly active users started at approximately 800,000, dipping to around 700,000 by the end of December. Revenue trends for Yuka showed a decline from 10,000 to 8,000 euros as the quarter progressed.
The YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet app exhibited a revenue trend that spiked toward the end of the quarter, jumping from 20,000 euros to an impressive 60,000 euros. Downloads saw a significant rise from around 10,000 to 40,000, while active users increased from approximately 270,000 to over 370,000.
BodyFast: Intermittent Fasting showed a steady revenue throughout most of the quarter, starting at about 10,000 euros and peaking at over 20,000 euros. Downloads showed a similar pattern, starting at around 6,000 and surging to over 28,000 by the end of December. Active users also saw growth, from around 30,000 to over 60,000.
Lifesum Food Tracker & Fasting saw its revenue grow from under 10,000 euros to over 20,000 euros. The app's downloads doubled from around 5,000 to over 26,000, while active users increased from nearly 100,000 to over 130,000.
Lastly, SIMPLE: your nutrition guide had a more volatile quarter. Revenue saw an early peak of about 13,000 euros, before dropping to 2,000 euros and then surging to 13,000 euros again by the year's end. Downloads followed a similar trend, with a peak of over 20,000, a drop to around 3,000, before rising to over 20,000. Active users increased from just under 4,000 to over 70,000.
